The 2013 Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies Conference will be hosted by the University of Virginia on March 14-17. It will be held at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville, VA and on the University of Virginia campus.
INCS Conference Format
As in past INCS conferences, accepted conference papers will be posted on this website in mid-February so that participants can read them in advance. Papers should be 8-10 pages long. At the sessions, each presenter will have 5 minutes to orient discussion of his or her paper: he or she may summarize the paper, place it in a larger context, suggest its broader implications, or connect it to other papers on the panel. The rest of the session will be devoted to discussion.
The conference will feature keynote addresses by William Gleason (Department of English, Princeton University) and Lynda Nead (Department of History of Art and Screen Media, Birkbeck, University of London). See Featured Speakers for more information.
